Privacy Policy for muvi

Last updated: 12 August 2026

What this app is

muvi is a personal movie-ranking app. You add films you’ve watched, rank them against each other, and the app keeps your ordered list.

What we collect

We collect only what’s needed to run your account:

We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, photos, or device identifiers. There is no third-party tracking SDK in the app.

How your data is used

Solely to provide the app: to authenticate you and to store and display your library. We do not sell your data, share it with third parties for their own purposes, or use it for advertising.

Where your data lives

Your account data is stored on servers operated by our hosting providers, Render and Turso, in the United States. Access is restricted to the app’s maintainer.

Third-party services

Movie titles, artwork, and metadata come from The Movie Database (TMDB). When you search for a film, your search text is sent to TMDB to return results. Movie posters are loaded directly from TMDB’s servers to your device, which means TMDB receives your device’s IP address as part of that request. TMDB’s privacy policy: https://www.themoviedb.org/privacy-policy

This product uses the TMDb API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDb.

Deleting your data

You can permanently delete your account from inside the app: Settings → Delete account. This erases your account, your library, your rankings, and your notes. It is immediate and cannot be undone.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, it is removed.

Children

muvi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date above.
